Addison Barnhurst

This post is mainly for us to remember the day little Addi was born. Dusty and I decided to be induced. It was past her due date and we didn't want her to come any closer to Christmas. We went in to the hospital at midnight Sunday the Dec 16 at midnight. After filling out paperwork I got the petocin around 1am. I was dilated to a 2-3 and 50% effaced. As soon as the petocin was in I could feel contractions. I had not realized it then but I had felt contractions for a couple weeks just not as consistent. Around 4 am I was pretty miserable and asked for my epidural. All I have to say is epidurals are my best friend! After my epidural I was dilated to a 5. Then my family came around 6 am to support me. I was so glad they were there. Thanks mom, dad, and Mel :) an hour later the nurse checked and I was dilated to a nine and ready to push. I pushed for around 20 min and had to stop because my doctor was not there yet and the nurse did not want to deliver the baby. The Dr came around 8:30 and 8:39 am  little Addison was born. 7 lbs 3oz 20 inches long. Life will never be the same.

Just a side note we stayed in the hospital Monday night went home Tuesday afternoon and then went to Utah Wednesday to spend Christmas and New Years with the family. It has been a crazy three weeks but we are loving every minute we get to spend with Addison.
