June 2014

We had a great June. For Dustin and I five year anniversary we decided to take a trip to New York City! It was a great trip! Our friends Vince and Jordan Donohue came with us to enjoy the fun! I will always remember it! Addi got to spend time with grandma and grandpa Whipple. She also got to spend time with her Aunt Stephanie Scott. Here our some pictures from that trip.

Grandpa and Grandma spoiled Addi. She got to go to the Park and McDonalds

The boys doing some last minute work in the airport at the kiddie table.

The first thing we got to see in New York was the temple. It was so beautiful! It was so great to be on the busy streets then go into the peace and calm of the temple. We weren't able to do a session but we did some sealings.

Our next stop was time square!

We got to go too two broadway shows while we were in New York. The first show was the Newsies. It was amazing! I loved every minute of it!

Our apartment we stayed at was right by the flat iron building.

We spent a day out on Conney Island. Of course we stopped by Nathens and had the world famous hotdog and by the way the diet coke was amazing!

On the way back to the city we stopped by little Italy and Chinatown!

One of the most amazing things we did in New York was visit the World Trade center and memorial! I would recommend this no matter what!

We then went to the Museum of Modern Art.

Next was a tour of rockerfeller plaza

We then took a cruise around the island to get the view of the city at night!

We took a bike tour of Central Park. It was so fun to see all the famous parts of central park. The best part it was just us and the Donahues that were on the tour.

Another tour of the rockafellar plaza

At the top of the Rock!

The MET (my favorite museum)

Dustins favorite room had all these really cool old guns!

That night we went to another broadway show. IF/THEN by Idina Menzel. She is an amazing singer and performer!

On the way back we stopped by the empire state building!

Museum of Natural History

It was so fun to go to the Mets game! We couldn't make it to a Yankees game because they were not in town when we were there. Bummer I guess we have to go again :)

We were able to stop by grand central station on the way back from the game! So cool!

These next pictures were from the memorial of 9-11. If you could only do one thing in New York I would say go to this! It was so amazing and overwhelming.

The last column standing from 9-11

The actual staircase were people escaped from the fire. They called it the survivors staircase. They built the museum around it!

This is the steal in the building were one of the airplanes hit!

One of the Fire trucks that got destroyed by the collapse of the towers

The famous cross that was left from the wreckage

There was also shoes, purses, bikes, wallets, glasses, the list goes on and on that was found in the wreckage. It was a humble experience to read the stories of the people who were lost.

The survivors tree

Wall street bull

the oldest hotel in America

The oldest restraint in New York

Dustin insisted on seeing Wall street! It was cool to see the business of wall street

On our way to the Brooklyn bridge we saw some aftermath of hurricane Sandy. It was such a pretty picture of the old piano I couldn't help but capture it.

Brooklyn bridge

On our way to SoHo and saw the Washington arch. We Also say the cool buildings of NYU

We were able to go inside the Statue of Liberty!

We also got to go to Ellis Island. It was so humid because the AC was broken because of Hurricanee Sandy.

I loved this trip. New York is such a great city! I can't wait until we are able to come back again.
